Put it in the Basket (Part Three)
After letting all these discoveries sink in, I knew I wanted to write about my findings. Eventually, I came up with this poem and made a bookmark to always keep as a reminder. When I feel my conjured thoughts running wild, whether about the health of my family or about their safety, I read this poem and pray so that I can completely release my thoughts and lay them in the "basket."
Put it in the Basket
The thoughts come without any warning.
Troubles find me morning after morning.
Another day where I just mask it.
A still, small voice, "Put it in the basket."
Doom, gloom and unhappy endings;
where can I go to find proper mending?
Another panic attack, I must outlast it.
A still, small voice, "Put it in the basket."
I see Him before me, a basket at his feet.
He calls me to place my worry and defeat.
There's no more need for me to task it.
A still, small voice, "Put it in the basket."
He promises to carry it, where He will sort it out,
nothing now, for me to worry about.
When troubles find you, be sure to cast it.
Or better yet, Put it in the basket.
"I removed the burden from their shoulders; their hands
were set free from the basket."
Psalm 81:6
